An excellent 70s Road Sports raced brought the weekend to a close and victory went to the Lotus Europa of James Dean despite a spirited chase from Charles Barter (Datsun 240Z). Peter Shaw (TVR Tuscan) and Julian Barter (TVR 3000M) made it a highly competitive quartet over the early laps and were never far adrift even after 20 minutes around the Grand Prix circuit. The final two laps of the entertaining 20 minute tussle between 70s competitor Julian Barter, TVR 3000M and the Colman/Colman Chevron B8. Like typical HSCC racers being in separate classes doesn\'t stifle the competitive instinct as both push their cars to the limit on a slippery track. The Colman Chevron finishes 7th overall and 3rd in class. Julian\'s TVR finishes 8th overall and 1st in class from a grid of 55 starters. Edited highlights. Described in Autosport as \'evil conditions\' Mark Oldfield slipped back to 19th position on the first lap of the 20 minute 70s Road Sport Championship race and then staged an action packed 13 minutes of racing passing 9 cars in 4 laps, making great use of the Barrichello line around Luffield. Julian Barter completes the final 30 minutes of the one hour GT & Sports Car Cup Race on Silverstone GP circuit. Partnered by Jim Dean they finished 2nd in class.
